Day 264, September 25

One of my favorite hymns is titled "Lord, I Would Follow Thee."

The fourth verse, in particular, touches my heart:

Savior, may I love my brother
As I know thou lovest me,
Find in thee my strength, my beacon,
For thy servant I would be.
Savior, may I love my brother--
Lord, I would follow thee.

"My strength, my beacon ..."  I love the use of the word "beacon."  A beacon is a stream of light, a touchstone upon which we can count.

This I know for sure:  the Lord is my beacon.

  1. For me, it is important that the Savior is the beam of light that shines through the darkness. There seems to be so much darkness.
